While this year was certainly more productive then 2020, the nation’s courthouses remain overloaded with jury cases. Whether it was the lack of “Covid Courts” available in a jurisdiction, the pandemic itself or the usual delay tactics that seem to work much more these days, 2021 only scratched the service of the backlog. Our clients are dealing with continuations when they are and have been ready to try the case for months and sometimes years. We hope and feel like 2022 will resume its slow climb back to a more productive in-person courtroom scenario.
I had the pleasure of attending the American Lawyer Industry Awards in New York City on December 2. What an amazing evening filled with passion, pride and heartfelt acceptance speeches that inspired the audience. The room was filled with the “Who’s Who” of Litigation and I enjoyed rooting and clapping for some of our clients like Kirkland & Ellis, Keker Van Nest, Cooley, Finnegan, and Jenner & Block who were all up for awards. It made me proud to know that we work with the nation’s best and brightest litigation minds.
Looking ahead to 2022 one thing is for sure and that is litigation will remain in focus, but it will continue to evolve. Our team will be evolving along with our hotel partners to ensure your needs are met and those of your clients. We looking forward to serving you in 2022 and being a part of your continued success.
